Fred Bertrand

Fred Bertrand was a farmer who cared for the livestock at the County Home Farm on the eleventh line East Zorra. He married the girl who cared for the patients in the Home.

This photo was taken at a local plowing match. His name can be found in many plowing contests and provincial IPMs in the 1940s; Ingersoll Junior Farmers, East and West Oxford Competitions.

About 1950 he bought his own farm in Perth county. He passed away the day of 9/11. 
His son and grandson still carry on the plowing tradition competing in county and provincial competition.
